Lodz is a city in the centre of Poland. It is the former textile industry city, with an interesting history of 4 (Polish, Russian, German and Jewish) communities and cultures coexisting before World War II. After the war the city became a mono-national community and after the collapse of the industry, went through a difficult period of various changes. It slowly gained the identity of university and cultural city.
