6o Geniko Lykeio of Aigaleo

The “6o Geniko Lykeio of Aigaleo” is a local General Secondary Senior Highschool. It was established in 1980, and it ran as a General, Vocational and Technical Regional Senior Highschool till 1999. It employs about 22 full-time teachers, plus 5-6 part time ones and hosts 248 pupils. English and French are taught as part of the curriculum.

The school is situated in an area of 65,000 m2, sharing the grounds with a school for pupils with learning difficulties, as well as a school for the disabled and the blind. In the afternoon it’s used by a public Vocational Institute for post lyceum studies on various fields like Economics, Engineering, etc.

Aigaleo is one of the largest suburbs in the west of Athens, in Greece. In the past, a number of factories were situated in the area, so most of its residents are working-class people.
