The partner countries arrived at school early in the morning. After a tour of the school, Mr. Ionut Adrian Patularu, the school headmaster, gave a welcome speech on behalf of the Romanian partner team.
In the auditorium, all the eight partner countries presented their materials on the topic- GRATITUDE ( research on the situation of the elderly in each country, volunteering activities, students' impressions on how they see themselves as retired people). The summary of the Twin Space activities on this topic was also presented.
In the afternoon, the students and teachers were divided in small groups in order to take part in the workshop activities: DEBATES ("My life as a retired person...") and ROLE-PLAY activities (''Honour thy Father and thy Mother...''). In the former activity the students had to discuss, analyze, bring arguments, agree or convince the others on different aspects about their future as retired people. In the latter workshop, the students had to come up with ideas and solutions in order to solve some problems the elderly confront with nowadays by playing different roles: Learning- by- doing technique.
After the school activities have ended and all the students have got a deeper grasp of the topic and the importance of the elderly in society, everyone went for a well deserved relaxing walk in the park, the Nicolae Romanescu Park, the second largest natural park in Europe.
