Opening of the meeting
The day began with the presentations and the official speeches by all participants in the Comenius project. The headmaster of the school and our English teacher Mrs Moutenet had prepared speeches to welcome all people from abroad, there was also a presentation by three students who worked on the logo “PEV” (which means :”Lycée paul Emile Victor”).
After that, in the auditorium, each country had to present its country and city, school… Greek partners had made videos of activities performed there and all the interesting places in their country. Just as Latvians, who also sang a song from their country and shared their culinary specialities. Students from Turkey, Czech Republic and Romania also presented their country in turns.
Then as the theme of the meeting in France was gender inequalities, each country had to prepare a slide show about inequalities between men and women. Thanks to the presentations on gender role, we noticed that many similarities exist in each country. Thus, in almost all countries women are responsible for house chores and children's education.
In the afternoon, a rally was organized to discover ten essential places in the city of Champagnole. As the Comenius group was big (around 60 people), it was divided into 6 international groups. Unfortunately the weather was not fine, it started snowing during the visit.
All wet and frozen, we arrived in the town hall where Mr Pernot, the mayor of Champagnole welcomed partners. He said he was proud to host this project in his city. He offered us a drink. It was the end of the first day!
