I think the trip to the Czech Republic was a fascinating adventure. I met interesting people from different countries. The family, who hosted me, was very friendly and kind. What surprised me was that it was easy for us to communicate with the Czech in Polish. The theme of this meeting was "Life with disabled people in society". I think classes and workshops were very interesting. They allowed us to see in the disabled normal people and we experienced that we can treat them on equal terms with us. Thanks to these classes I could see they are very creative and happy children. An interesting element of the project was a trip to the Museum of Science and Technology; however, the place that I liked most was a castle in Lednice. Both interiors and surrounding park and gardens were very beautiful. This journey was an incredible and unforgettable experience for me.

When I was in Brno it was surprising for me that I could speak Polish to the Czech people and they could understand me. I lived with the Czech family who looked after me and my friend. We had delicious breakfast every day and dinner in the evening. On the first day we visited the old city of Brno. I saw amazing old buildings and churches. The views were wonderful. During the project visit we had presentations about disabled people and we met students from other countries. It was an opportunity for me to speak English and practice it. I hope I will come back Brno one day.

After the trip to the Czech Republic I think, that the Comenius programme, which organises international exchanges among seven countries, is very useful and instructive. I have been in the Czech Republic for the first time and I am very excited. In the beginning I was expecting a little different country than Poland, but I was wrong. Life there is very similar to ours. What I also mean are my new mates. I had no idea, that striking up new relationships can be so easy. The only obstacle was the language, but after a while we managed to communicate well. Finally I understood, that people from other countries are emotionally and mentally similar to me. Differences come only from different culture and upbringing.
I also realized, that language groups have enormous importance. It was easier for me to communicate with the Czechs, than with the others, for example with Greeks. And it’s not just about the language, because we were speaking English. I think, that joint borders have very big importance.
Another fact that suprised me was overcoming stereotypes. Earlier I thought of French as of unsociable people. My point of view has changed after getting to know with my new French colleagues. Now I know that they are friendly and kind.
I was also delighted with the city. Brno made a good impression on me, it turned out to be a beautiful and friendly city. I enjoyed long bus journeys, because it was very comfortable and we always managed to get to our destination point on time. The Czech school was big and equipped with many things that are necessary for students to learn and rest, for example computers on corridors, convenient canteen and big gymnasium. All the people were kind and friendly and open-minded. I was also feeling safe when walking down the streets because of many police patrols.
In spite of some differences between Poland and the Czech, Republic I think, that we are similar countries. I must say, that I felt there like “at home”. I would love to repeat such an excursion one day.
I hope, that I will still be in touch with my new international friends.

Impressions from Oktawia:
In Brno, there are many monuments, which are renovated. We could see them and take photos of them.
A Czech village is different for a Polish village, because it is as big as Polish small town.
Czech students do not have to take mathematics at the school leaving exam.
In Brno the public transport is better developed than in Łódź.
Valtice has really beautiful vineyards and surroundings, because it is in Morawy. …And of course very good wine.
Czechs are very nice people and I made friends with most of them. The hosts prepared for us very good food - light breakfast and sandwiches for school and of course hot dinner. They also learned some Polish words for welcome – it was a very nice surprise!

I think that the meeting in Brno was a good experience. In Czech Republic, I made some new friends. My host was a great guy and we enjoyed speaking English together. I will never forget the moments when I was with him and his family. We played, we laughed: It was fantastic...
I hope that one day, once more , I will be able to meet all the friends I made during this Comenius project. It was so great!

The trip to Czech Republic was a pleasant one. The theme of this meeting was "Life with disabled people in society'', I found it very interesting. the activities we did on the theme very rich, they allowed us to learn more on how the disabled people live by visiting the Insitution on Thursday. The trip to Brno, has also allowed me to discover another culture différent from my country, France. The people who came from all over Europe, were very friendly! This meeting was not comparable to Thé one in France, in last November, we the French, we had to welcome the people, and we communicated more. My best day was Saturday, we visited the castle Lednice, a beautiful day. In my opinion this mobility was positive. Our Czech hosts were very welcoming, and I thank them all.
An incredible experience, i Will never forget.

The mobility to Czech Republic was a good experience for me.
I was welcomed by my host family, I thank them again because I had a great contact with them.
I discovered a different culture. I was surprised to see that they never drink plain water but tea, fruit juice or sparkling water. What also surprised me is that they wear slippers at school.
This trip was a good experience for me. I particularly enjoyed working with the disabled children and talking to their family.
Eléa
The things that surprised me in Brno were that all students put their slippers on in the school. In France we are with our outdoorshoes. The food was very different from French food but I liked it a lot. This was a wonderful trip and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Czech students. This trip to Czech Republic will stay in my memory for a long time. I hope I will have the opportunity to see my new friends again.Marine

A life changing experience…
Sometimes, we have to make choices in life that, on a long term, may lead to life changing experiences. One of these choices was my decision to take part in the ”YoUtopia” project.
I will never forget the meeting in Brno. I was really impressed by numerous facts, one of them being the unique architectural style of the old city, that sometimes made me feel like I was living the glorious days of the Austro-Hungarian empire or the early days of the Czech Republic.
Another thing that impressed me was the architecture of the new city, which made me feel like I was part of a big and prosperous city of the future “YoUtopia” that we are trying to built by placing its very first bricks with the activities of our project.
The third thing that impressed me were the inhabitants of the city and the foreign students. They are shiny examples of the model for the perfect European citizen.
The fourth fact that impressed me was the school which I consider interesting because it encourages the need for education and it has all the facilities I could have ever imagined.
Last but not least , the local cuisine…It was unique and diverse.
Now, after such an experience, I will go out there to share with the rest of the world the knowledge I gathered during the meeting in Brno.

Our trip to Czech Republic was incredible. The country is very beautiful. There I experienced a lot of new things:
THE WEATHER. The temperature in Czech Republic is really unfriendly.
THE FOOD. In Czech Republic we ate almost everyday ‘svíčková na smetaně’, a typical Czech dish and one of the most popular Czech meals.
THE SCHOOL:
Each pupil has his ‘student identity card’, so they can be identified. Also, without them they can’t enter the school due to the barriers at the school entrance.
The lockers. There, every pupil leaves his jacket and backpack.
The slippers. Everybody must walk in the school with them on. Personally, I think it is a great idea to keep the school clean.
The students have everyday an almost 2 hour break to eat at the canteen and relax in some special rooms.
In every class there is a sink.
A lot of the teenagers know martial arts or different sports.
Andreea Bocai
The school has a fully equipped gym
The UNESCO world heritage Valtice wine cellars can be rented for different events such as Team-buildings.
The Czech Republic’s national symbol features the Bohemian lion symbol 2 times.
The students which attend classes that train them as apprentices wear special jackets.
The teachers apply a more evolved “time out” method when students misbehave, by sending them out of the class. On a bench next to the door.

I am really proud that I was a part of his project. I was new experience in my life. It was the first time in my life when I talked and played with disabled people. I made new friends. I had a chance to refresh my Italian talking with Italian students. I love Brno city and Vienna which we had a chance to see on our way home. Oh, and the first TV talk show in my life was in Czech TV- it`s unforgetable!!!! Diana
Brno was even bigger than I imagined and more beautiful than I ever dreamed. All those churches and buildings were magnificent. In the night Brno and town where I lived looked spectacular. I am very thankful for opporunity to see this beautiful country- Czechia.
Aleksandrs
I really can`t imagine anyone who doesn`t like Brno. It`s impossible. I can find appropriate adjective. I`d like to say it was DREAMY.
Czech food is heavy, but so good!!!!
Ralfs
I like the architecture of Brno. People are very friendly and responsive.
The system of public transport is very comfortable- it`s good that tickets are valid for certain time period.

Talking with disabled people was very interesting. The presentation was funny. People from other countries were interesting.

When the teacher said me that I should host a guy from another country I was saying for myself „It will be boring“. But after he came it was fun becouse he was in my age category and he played gameboy games like me. It was sad and funny when handicapped people came to school. And when we went to Kociánka it was same. I was sad when Ciprian went back to his country ...

I am happy that I had an opportunity to practice my English. I also liked the sightseeing in Brno and the castle in Lednice. It was very nice experience to be with students from another country. I realy liked this project.
Boris K.
The project with foreigners was good ...
For example they came from Greece, Italy, Romania, and Latvia and other countries.
I asked them about their hobbies, life and school.
We worked on our project- YoUtopia...
It was fantastic world without problems, where disabled people were not discriminate.
I met a lot of good students - and i think it should be more projects.
Martin Z.
I liked the project. I got to know people from other countries. People were fine, although occasionally uncommunicative. The first day, when the presentation was I was not happy, because the presentation of some countries were unnecessarily too long and sometimes tedious. Even from our side it was not good because we were not prepared ideally. Other days were fine. Activities in Brno I liked and foreigners were also satisfied.
Mirek S.
The meeting was very good. I have gained most experiences by speaking with students and teachers. I learned about many countries very interesting things. Presentations where not the most exited part and very long for me.
Martin K.
I think Utopia is a very intersting project . I like to meet new people and this project gave me chance to meet with children from other countries. It was really fun and i enjoyed it.
I've met a girl named Andreea, she is really friendly and kind. We are chatting on facebook everyday. It would be so great if I'd have a chance to take a trip to Romania to make our friendship stronger. And that's all what I wanted to say. Wish you have a really good day.
Tony N.
In my opinion the project was great, I enjoyed every minute and I met some new friends. I hope that I will also travel somewhere and I will discover some other cultures.
Lukáš H.
I had fear how master it. But my fear was unnecessary. In Kocianka were great people all people were kind and laugt. Activities were good but it was challenging mentally and physically. It was very challenging day. In Friday it was quieter when we had together tasks. This project was great and I learned speak english in practice a little bit.

We have noticed some differences between our school in Monopoli and the school in Brno, such as for example the canteen (we don t have one in our school) and the fact that the students can change their clothes and shoes at school.
The gym is also very good and well equipped in Brno and there is a control system at the entrance of the school.
