This month's newsleter, written by Patti Nicholson:

The process of writing is different for each person. Some use a computer while others use a pen and paper. Some use situations either experienced or observed. Some use their wonderful imaginations. Some write fiction and others write non-fiction. Some write poetry and others write prose. Some take classes to learn how to write. Others learn from books by studying alone. Some need background noise and others need quiet.

Writing Prompt: What is your process of writing? Has it changed over time? Write about it.

COMING UP: May 13, 2014 "Lessons in Writing Learned from Experience" presented by guest speaker, Dan Stanley, co-owner of The US Journal. Learn how to begin with a main point, develop through illustrations, and maintain transitions and flow. See the schedule page for more details.

As a side note, Dan is looking for writers and is offering a free subscription to our members!

FEEDBACK (CRITIQUE) OPPORTUNITY: If you want to receive feedback on your work, come early (5:30 p.m.) to meet with others. Bring 6-8 copies of your short piece (300 words or so) for the group to read along as you share. You could bring what you’ve written in response to the prompt above, or something else you’re working on. It can be a portion of a book chapter, or a short article too.

See you at the May meeting!

Blessings,

Patti Nicholson
