This month, our inspiration comes form Patti Nicholson, long-time guild member and board member:
The sunlight fades a bit earlier each day. That should not surprise me, but it somehow snuck up on me this year. The beauty that is beginning to show its face reminds us that God is the master artist, surrounding us with glorious colors. Walking among the beauty, listening to the wildlife conversing with each other, and talking with the Creator doesn’t get any better than this.
Writing Prompt: Have you taken time to enjoy God’s creation and thank Him for it? If not, what’s stopping you? Write about your experiences or what prevents you from having those experiences.
Thanks Patti!
COMING UP: October 8, 2013 "Brainstorming Conflict in Your Novel" presented by guest speaker, Michelle Lim. See the schedule page for more details.
Fiction Workshop: On October 8, we are hosting a fiction writers workshop with Michelle Lim. Here is your chance to brainstorm and work on your fiction techniques. More info
FEEDBACK (CRITIQUE) OPPORTUNITY: If you want to receive feedback on your work, come early (5:30 p.m.) to meet with others. Bring 6-8 copies of your short piece (300 words or so) for the group to read along as you share. You could bring what you’ve written in response to the prompt above, or something else you’re working on. It can be a portion of a book chapter, or a short article too.
See you at the October meeting!
Blessings,
