This month's newsletter, written by Patti Nicholson:

September is coming quickly and so is Western Wisconsin Christian Writers Guild! Our first meeting of the season is Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Personally, I can't wait. It will be good to see friends from previous seasons and we hope to see many new faces as we go through this year.

We are going to try some new ideas this year to challenge and inspire both the leadership team and all of the writers that attend our meetings. We hope you will join us on this journey as we learn with each other and from each other.

Writing Prompt: How have you kept your writing alive over the summer break? Have you attended a conference? Have you met with a critique group? What other ways? Write about it.

COMING UP: September 9, 2014 - guest speaker, Mary Pierce. What better way to jump-start the new season than to welcome Mary back? There is no doubt that she will have a presentation that will get the ball rolling on our writing.

If you want to receive feedback on your work, come early (5:30 p.m.) to meet with others. Bring 6-8 copies of your short piece (300 words or so) for the group to read along as you share. You could bring what you’ve written in response to the prompt above, or something else you’re working on. It can be a portion of a book chapter, or a short article too.

See you at the September meeting!
