What a sweet story, Aunt Kash! Since you mentioned the fact that Mom used to call your parents the "Peeps," we thought this would be a good time to tell another story about your big sister that has long been a favorite of ours. We call it the "Peep story."
Once, when the three older Ellis sisters (Ruth, Jeannie, and Lola) were little girls, they were riding in the back seat of the family car, and our grandpa was driving. The girls were arguing about something, so Grandpa told them, "Stop arguing and don't say another peep until we get home, or I'll put you out of the car!" Our mama just couldn't help herself. We can just imagine the impish little grin on her face as Jeannie ever-so-innocently and with a faint, squeaky voice uttered to her sisters: "peep!" Grandpa was not amused, so he pulled over to the side of the road and put all three girls out to walk home! Mom told us later that they did not have far to walk, and they actually had fun. So you see, even way back then, our mother was not one to give up! :)
