Mrs. Graetz:
There are no words that can express how much you have meant to us over the few years that we have known you. We will never forget the sweet smile and hugs each time that we saw you.
You two are a great role model for newly married couples.
We will never forget the time that we were at the Montgomery AIDS walk, you two were holding hands the whole walk and we also remember that you out-walked us, you made it back to the pavilion before we did. :)
We always enjoyed the meals with you at the PFLAG meetings and the times that you came to our house for dinner.
I (Nancy) will always have the memory of the honor of being able to present you with the Billy Jack Gaither award and I will always remember the advice that you gave me when I was talking about starting seminary, I was concerned about my age, I told you that I would be in my mid 50's before I finished school. You said “honey, you will still be in your mid 50's if you go to seminary or not. Do what the Lord is telling you to do.” I will never forget that and I will always appreciate what you said.
But the most outstanding memory that we have of you two is the day of our wedding (Holy Union Ceremony) how you wore the corsage in memory of our mothers and the candle arrangement that you gave us for a wedding gift is one of our most prized possessions.
We will never forget you and what you mean to us and how you have supported us in our lives and how we have watched you support the LGBT community. You are truly both role models that we will look up to for the rest of our lives.
I have always wanted to hear someone say to me that I have made a difference in my life and that I am a better person for having known you, well, I can honestly say that to you, you and Rev. Graetz have made a difference in our lives and we are better people for having known you. You are such an encouragement for everyone.
Congratulations on your recent graduation and we wish you the best in whatever you decide to do next in your life. We can't wait to see what that is.
We Love you,
Margaret Wilbourn & Nancy Dobson
