We met Jeannie and Bob our first year of arriving in Montgomery in December 2006. They had not yet settled here but were planning to in the near future. From the moment we met, I felt as if we had known them forever. Jeannie immediately embraced us as two of her children. They were the first to reach out to us in that loving manner and we feel so connected. And when they bought their home right around the corner from us, I could not believe it. It is like a hidden treasure in the community. But alas, though we are younger, we could not keep up with them with their full calendar of activities. They have too much energy for us. We kind of sit on the sideline and watch as they do these amazing things.
We love Jeannie and Bob (can't separate the two), and our lives have been better from having them be a part of it. As I am driving down Dunbar and see Jeannie walking home from classes, I end up parking and walking with her. She is so excited about her work with children. When I introduced her to my 11 month old godson, he immediately just fell from my arms to her arms, and she had to hold steady because he was a big fellow.
Jeannie, congratulations on all your accomplishments. You worked hard and steadfast without tiring and with so much compassion. God's plan for us is to love and YOU ARE love and you are loved by so many.
It's very inspiring. Thank you for being you. Love you.
