I have been thinking about this for several days, wanting to write something very special, and there are just so many special memories. We met Jeannie on a sunny Sunday afternoon in May 1983 (hard to believe that in just a few days that will be 30 years ago), when she and Bob drove down our lane and into our family's heart. She became not only a beloved friend, but a mentor to myself and my children and grandchildren. For 12 years, she assisted Bob in making St. John Lutheran Church a loving home of God. Nurtured the members and encouraged our family in many ways. They always knew that they had a place in our home -- it was nothing for us to find them there, needing a rest between meetings and too far away to drive home. Always knowing just when they were needed and showing up to comfort or encourage, which ever was needed. She is a very strong, loving person who has prayed me and my family through many difficult times, and we are all the better for it. Jeannie, wish we could be with you on this wonderful celebration. But you are in our thought and prayers.
