I first met Mrs. Graetz more than 20 years ago in Montgomery, at Roots & Wings, A Cultural Bookplace. I was manager of the bookplace, and she and Rev. Graetz were there together as patrons. Over the years, they brought many tour groups to the business. I always exceeded my sales quota when they visited! At some point during these visits, I learned about Rev. Graetz's first book and the couple's involvement in the civil rights movement. I am forever grateful to Mrs. Graetz for her compassion, her encouragement, her honesty and her example. It has been a joy to know her.
