Dear Mrs. Graetz,

How wonderful to hear of your latest accomplishment! You were always an inspiration. To the young girls at St.Philip's Lutheran in Columbus, Ohio you modeled being a wonderful mother to your children and devoted partner to Pastor Graetz. Perhaps my fondest memory of you, however, is the quiet strength and courage you displayed when you, Pastor Graetz, Bill Green and I made our daring Volkswagen van trip to Miami Beach in 1961 at the height of the Freedom Rides to attend the International Luther League Convention. I am so proud of you and so proud to know you. You will always have my love and respect.
