Dear Jeannie...and Bob too:

You two are tops on our list of "heroes of our faith." How we admire what you have done and are still doing to answer the call to social ministry issued by our Lord Jesus Christ.

We recall with thanksgiving and hopefully a justified pride the way in which our lives have intersected. Was it not in a hotel room in Chicago when both Bob and I were representing our relationship with Christians in East Germany that we discussed a recent "Immersion" Martin Luther Pilgrimage to Montgomery that you both led for the benefit of Jon's students at Miami Valley School. And from that discussion came the subsequent 6 pilgrimages with members of Epiphany Lutheran and Mt. Enon Baptist often with representatives of the Synod of Mecklenburg, East Germany. How those Lutherans behind the "Iron Curtain" drew courage from you two for their own mission to be free to worship, to travel and to serve was calling them.

So we celebrate with you Jeannie on this upcoming great achievement. Congratulations! Soli deo gloria! We are so thrilled to have a small part to play in your plans to help children read. The will be so freed when they can read the great stories of the faith, many of them being the stories you wrote with your lives.
