Blogger Tutorial

Blogger is a blogging platform, that was bought by Google in 2003. All blogs created within this platform are housed within Google servers. Since Blogger is a Google based product, it generally works seamlessly with other google based apps, including Google Docs, Google Presenter, Youtube, etc.

This tutorial attempts to show users how to set up an account, get started blogging, and how to to make their blog a multimodal experience for readers.

1. Setting up an account.

The first thing a user must do in order to begin utilizing blogger, is to set up an account. You can begin by going to the Blogger website. Once you have gotten there, you will see a screen asking you to create a new blog.

Once you are on that page, all you need to do is click on the button that says, "New Blog". I have put an oval around the button to click on, in the image above.

Once you have chosen to create a new blog, you will need to name your blog, as well as create a blog spot address.

Within the image above, I have included an example of how I decided to title and name my blog. Once you have titled your blog and named the blogspot address, click on the create blog button, which I have circled above.

2. Get Started Blogging

Once you have created your account, you need to get started blogging! In order to start writing, you need to click on the orange button, with a white pen inside of it. I have circled the button below.

Once you have chosen to get started writing, your screen will look like the image below. I have circled the spot where you should write the title of your blog and have placed an arrow pointing to where you can write the actual blog.

3. Making a Blogger Post a Multimodal Experience

A quality blog does not stop after the writer has added text and a title. In order to produce a piece that stimulates the senses of the reader, a good blogger wants to create a multimodal reading experience. This video below, looks to show users how to create a multimodal experience within Blogger.
