April 9, 1982: Angela Channing´s ex-husband Douglas (Stephen Elliott) died of a heart attack at the end of the penultimate episode of the first season of "Falcon Crest". Of course, drama queen Angela blamed poor old Chase of his death and swore she´d never forgive him for that...She never suspected, not only that Douglas had been unfaithful to her during their marriage, but he also had allied with his lover and her arch-rival Jacqueline Perrault to steal her away her first-born Richard Channing, who made his entrance the following year and became one of the landmarks of the show. Also, Chase and Cole´s inquest on Jason Gioberti´s death was revealing that his death wasn´t accidental, as all viewers had seen in the show´s premiere. Ana-Alicia´s character Melissa Agretti Cumson was already sawing the seed of greed and (unrequitted) love all around the Valley.

Por supuesto, la reina del melodrama Angela culpaba al pobre Chase de su muerte y juraba que nunca le perdonaría...Nunca había sospechado, no sólo que Douglas le había sido infiel estando casados, sino que se había aliado con su amante y gran rival de ella, Jacqueline Perrault, para arrebatarle a su primogénito Richard Channing, que haría su entrada el año siguiente y se convertiría en uno de los puntales de la serie. Además, la investigación de Chase y Cole sobre la muerte de Jason Gioberti revelaba que su muerte no había sido accidental, como los espectadores pudieron comprobar en el primer episodio. El personaje de Ana-Alicia, Melissa Agretti Cumson, ya sembraba la semilla de la avaricia y el amor (no correspondido) por todo el Valle...
