ROJoson Telemedical Consultation provides not only Telemedical Consultation with Dr. Reynaldo Joson himself, formulating a diagnosis and prescribing a treatment.
It also provides REFERRAL services based on ROJoson’s diagnosis of the medical needs of the patients and which are beyond the limit of ROJoson Telemedical Consultation.
Most important of all, it assists patients in WHERE TO GO and WHERE TO GET the needed REFERRED services. This is the most challenging part of the services being provided by ROJoson Telemedical Consultation particularly now, amid the COVID19 crisis. There is a scarcity, if not complete absence of specialists holding clinics in all hospitals in the country. Likewise, there is a scarcity of specialists who are into online or telemedical consultation. Moreover, there is scarcity of laboratory and therapeutic services like operating room services, radiotherapy services, chemotherapy services, etc.
Today, April 23, 2020, I am very happy to have provided at least 5 REFERRAL SERVICES to my patients under the ROJoson Telemedical Consultation set-up. [UPDATE: March 12, 2021 - have accomplished more referral services after April 23, 2020 - referred patients for radioactive iodine therapy; chemotherapy; for admission in government charity hospitals; for admission in private hospitals; for thyroidectomy, mastectomy, cholecystectomy, core needle biopsies, gastric surgery, etc.)
Case in points:
A patient with thyroid anaplastic carcinoma who wanted to have radiotherapy. ROJoson contacted Dr. Henri Co, a radiation oncologist, and set an appointment for the patient (April 23, 2020 - 10 am - XXXX Hospital).
A patient with acute myeloid leukemia who was in need to consult a hematologist for second opinion. ROJoson contacted Dr. Teresita Dumagay.
A patient needing physical therapy services. ROJoson contacted Ms. Abuel for assistance.
A pregnant patient from Zamboanga City who could not reach her Obstetrician. ROJoson interceded and contacted her obstetrician.
A pregnant patient caught in lockdown in Cagayan who could not have prenatal checkups. Worried because she had a previous history of abortion.
I was able to refer to an OB-GYN who was willing to do telemedical consultation.
October 2020
Referred patient to a colleague for thyroidectomy with a diagnosis of thyroid papillary carcinoma.
Here is her feedback:
21apr27
A patient with Stage III breast cancer in Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte needing chemotherapy and then surgery. She does not any surgeon and medical oncologist.
In the afternoon, I was able to connect her to Dr. Mark Anthony Marinas, a graduate of the PGH General Surgery Residency Program. The patient does not have to come to Manila, to Cagayan de Oro, to Cebu, or Zamboanga City. The patient was so thankful (especially in this time of COVID19 pandemic).
