Concern: Follow-up on thyroid papillary carcinoma, post total thyroidectomy and modified radical neck dissection - March 4, 2020
Taught patient how to do systematic and thorough self-examination of the neck.
1. Put examining fingers on both sides of the lower part of the windpipe and swallow at least 6x and feel for a lump between the fingers and the windpipe.
2. Slowly sweep down examining fingers as illustrated along the sides of the windpipe from up to down with continuous swallowing at least 6x and feel for a lump.
3. Slowly sweep down examining fingers as illustrated along the inner side of the neck starting from below the ears down to the collar bone at least 6x and feel for a lump.
4. On one side (one side at a time), slowly sweep down examining fingers as illustrated on the outermost side of the neck starting from below the ear down to the shoulder at least 6x and feel for a lump. Repeat on the other side.

Feedback of Patient:
Thank you, Dr. Joson for this creative initiative that allows for consultation during this time of quarantine. The session was not only productive and informative but also comforting as I was able to receive technical advice, guidance and reassurance on how to proceed for the needed next steps. I would also like to appreciate your heart to teach and empower more patients/people to also monitor and care for their health. May the good Lord graciously bless you and your family as you have been a blessing to us.
