===========================
Mamtha was born in 1955 in a lower middle class family.
Her father was a congressman.
She had her initiation in active political work , inspired by INDIRA GANDHI.-1970 (she was just 15 then)
She was a student leader and soon the state-level WOMEN'S CONGRESS
organizer
She had nothing but contempt and hatred towards the JP gang- of bogus socialists, jansangis, swathanthawalas,and pseudo marxists.
After Sonia took over, in 1998, she
felt that unlike Indira, Sonia was soft on CPM in Bengal and decided to re-assert CONGRESS presence in West Bengal. That was In 1998. Thus was born trinamool congress . Actually,
Mamtha is to be seen as the real congress of INDIRA GANDHI years.
She is not a rightist but against ceding leadership to CPM in Bengal.
She has never known defeat in any election.
