New User Greetings:

Hello and welcome to the use of the BRUKER NMR instrument. Before your exam, please find someone who is experienced and practice diligently in A525.

Each NMR instrument in the Chemistry Department is valued at over a million dollars, and the maintenance cost is higher compared to other instruments. 

In addition to charging usage fees based on account hours every quarter, 

if the instrument is damaged due to improper use, users are required to pay for the repair costs (starting from several hundred thousand dollars). 

The repair cost is substantial because NMR is a valuable, precise, and complex instrument.

New users must carefully read the user manual, guidelines, etc., (to avoid causing inconvenience to 30-40 laboratories—so please be cautious!)

New users should pay special attention:

to not break samples inside the probe because the BBFO probe is different from traditional probes. 

If the probe is contaminated, the administrator cannot clean it on their own and must outsource the process. 

Therefore, it is crucial to feel the buoyancy before releasing the tube.

The BBFO is a newly designed probe in recent years (with a unit price of three million dollars).

Inside the probe, there are precise coils and a sophisticated motor atm for automatic tuning, 

as well as a magnetic field gradient for automatic shimming. 

Traditional probes do not have these new designs,

and administrators can handle them on their own.

Surveillance cameras are in place, 

reminding you to be extremely careful!

化學系每台NMR價值都超過千萬，維護運作費用也比其他儀器昂貴。

化學系NMR除了按照各帳戶使用時數每季收取使用費外，

若儀器因使用者使用不當而導致損壞者，使用者需要支付修護費用。(以數拾萬元起計)

修護費不便宜是因為NMR 屬於貴重精密及複雜之儀器。

新手請務必閱讀使用手冊，管理辦法等。(如此可避免造成30~40 個實驗室之不便---要小心啊!)

新手需特別留意:

一定不能打破樣品在探頭內，因為BBFO與傳統探頭不一樣。

若探頭污染，管理員無法自行清理只能委外處理。

所以一定要感受到有空氣浮力才能將tube 放手。

 BBFO為近年來新設計探頭(單價3佰萬元)，

探頭內含精密之線圈外，

尚有可自動調諧之精密馬達atm，

自動勻場用之磁場梯度gradient。

傳統探頭沒有這些新設計，

傳統探頭管理員是可以自行處理。
