On Friday 31st January is the Feast of St John Bosco.

In the school library we have books in Maltese, English, Italian and in Spanish about the life of St John Bosco that you may borrow.

As a student, it is good to be familiar with this great Italian personality and understand his mission amongst the poor children.

He is the Patron Saint of Youth and also of Catholic Publishers.

New Cross in the School Library.

Throughout the scholastic years (2015-17), there was a collective effort to renew and update our school library. One of the initial steps was to start a weeding process whereby books that were out of date or unused for several years were removed. Some of these books were put on sale at much reduced prices, others were donated to appropriate charities, while any remaining ones were given to the Graphical Communication Department, the Design & Technology Department and Art Department to create something with them.

Recently, Mr Lou Paul Zerafa, Graphical Communication teacher presented the above cross to the School Library as a result of the mentioned process. It was done in loving memory of Mr Anthony Portelli who was Teacher-Librarian in our school between 2005 and 2015.

Artistic Description - Jesus is represented with the purest colour white, bright and radiating. The black represents the cross, absent from light, man-made and where darkness prevails. But together, all the colours emerge without boundaries of beauty, providing life and hope.

WELL DONE & THANK YOU
