Environmental health and safety managers work in both the private and public sector, promoting best practices among employees and overseeing thorough and comprehensive compliance with existing environmental legislation. They regulate the actions of any organization, monitoring the minimization of their environmental impact.
Many businesses hire EHS professionals to work directly with their human resources division, not just to ascertain environmental compliance but also to develop sustainability initiatives. EHS managers are expected to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of environmental laws and be keen on observing potential day-to-day hazards in the workplace.
