Tenacity is a trait often thrown around in business and personal goal setting. A tenacious person is someone who holds on firmly. It could be a person who manages to live for another 20 years with a terminal disease or someone who has failed several times but keeps trying and performing anyway.

Tenacity is marked by the ability to persistently and doggedly pursue a way or solution until it works, succeeds, and/or other people see the brilliance and effectiveness of it. What are some ways to develop this effectively?

Have a plan: This is where the saying “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” applies. Tenacity entails developing a plan to ensure that you know where you’re heading toward and you’re prepared to run the race with great energy and direction.

Choose the right pursuit: It’s important to believe that such pursuit is worth your time, effort, and resources to keep on keeping on – no matter what, and regardless how difficult the road can become.

Be driven by passion: You cannot be tenacious unless you’re passionate about something. Passion fuels life and drives one into winning. Without it, there cannot be tenacity and a life lived wi

th purpose, fulfillment, and significance. With passion, you can commit your whole body, mind, and soul to an endeavor.

Surround yourself with tenacious people: It’s normal to be unable to sustain commitment all the time or have self-doubt. It’s okay to get tired and discouraged sometimes. But having a group of equally committed individuals as you work your way to the future can help you become tenacious.
