How to map out life goals

Age should not define where one should be in their life's journey. For example, China's richest billionaire, Jack Ma, began his business venture at 35. Musical genius Beethoven meanwhile composed his first composition before age 12. If you are growing up with a dream in mind or are still on the road to discovering what you want to do in life, setting up life goals is the best way for you to achieve your goals, says life coach Marc Accetta. And there's no better way to achieving your dreams than mapping out your life goals. When mapping out life goals, it's essential to set them out physically. Whether you're making your list on a computer screen or a used table napkin after a bad date, listing down what you want in life is how your mapping starts. Later, you can improve on your list's visual quality or your mapped-out goal by making it a motivational poster of sorts that will always remind you of your goal.

Once you've listed down your goals, it's time to think SMART -- the abbreviation used by many industries when coming up with goals. It stands for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based. One example of a SMART goal is to reach 10,000 subscribers in your first year as a YouTube content creator. After you've mapped out your goals, there's not much left to do but work your hardest to achieve them. And the best way to do so is to make sure that everything you do takes you closer to your goal. If you want to start your own business but lack capital, get a job, or find investors. If your goal is to climb Kilimanjaro before turning 25, prepare your body for the hike and save up for the trip. For Marc Accetta, facing and overcoming challenges can be done with the right mindset.
