Atlassian tools kickstart
Ever wondered how to get started with installing Atlassian tools?
Do you want to hack on open source projects but are weary on messing up their instance of JIRA or fisheye?
Do you just want to learn how to get the most out of these tools by having your own instances to play with.?
If the answer is yes to any of these or you just want to learn something new, then this workshop is for you.
Schedule
- A 2 minute overview of all the tools (more time if questions are asked)
- A basic plan to install and configure each product
- Install and configure each product, step by step
- Where to get more help
Examples will be shown based on Ubuntu Linux, although the procedure is the same for MacOSX and Microsoft Windows. The only pre-requisite is a working Java environment (preferably Java 6) and a database (preferably postgresql, but you can used the built in HSQLDB).
You can install the products within a virtual machine or directly on your machine. I recommend VirtualBox from Oracle if you want to use a virtual machine.
Documentation to support the workshop is available, so you are able to work at your own pace and do as much or as little as you like.
Thank you
