At our meetings there are always several items of local history which arise and our members generally have some background information of relevance. We wish to report this and make it available as part of our heritage. Some recent topics have included :-

Flying from Littleover Have light aircraft taken off from Littleover? Well there has been many aircraft that have flown over Littleover having taken off from nearby. In the 1920’s and 30’s Derby was searching for a site for an airstrip or air field close too or in the Borough of Derby including a site near Littleover. ..............More

Clemsons Park On 10th June 2020 it was the 50th Anniversary of the opening of Clemson's Park. .............More
Littleover Farm Dairy During research into the farms of Littleover a farm named Wright’s Farm on Burton Road was found but its location in the Parish of Littleover could not be found. .............More
Elms Golf Course and Houses .The boundaries of the course lay with the borough boundary to the east, roughly the line of the current Manor Road, Uttoxeter Road to the north, Chain Lane to the west and the rear gardens of the houses in Littleover village along Burton Road. In the middle of the common, and hence the course, lay Rosson & Co cartridge filling works of 1892 (later a private house) where this dangerous process was undertaken in isolation from the marketplace gunsmiths. ................More
