Mark Young, Manager of the Derby City Local Studies Library, gave a detailed explanation of the range of techniques needed by the Littleover local history group to deal with their every increasing collection of local history materials. He also gave many examples of good and bad practice which the group found fascinating.

The group is anticipating they may soon receive quantities of World War I records such as photographs, newspaper cuttings and personal letters in preparation for Littleover's WW1 commemoration.

Information will need to be recorded correctly so it can be preserved and used only in accordance with the wishes of the donors.
