I am pleased to report that the garden appears not to have suffered too much damage, and the duck is safe:
Shady Park (Andrew's Grove) did not fare so well. It is heartbreaking to see all those mature trees uprooted.
The compost has not skipped a beat, and continues to 'cook' at a good temperature.
A number of people kindly left leaves and pumpkins to be added to the compost. Smashing up the pumpkins was actually quite good fun. We are collecting pumpkins again next weekend during compost collection if anyone wants to bring theirs down for us.
As you can probably tell from the teeth marks, the squirrels have been happily chewing on the pumpkins so they are definitely not starving while Shady Park is closed.
Compost collection and Leaf Collection will all take place again next Sunday. We will have compost volunteers available from 10am to 1pm to answer questions so feel free to come down.
