LIC Community Garden is now an NYC Compost Project Demonstration Site

We are very honoured to have been included this year as a demonstration site for the NYC Compost Project. As part of our involvement we will be hosting some events and activities over the summer and early autumn which focus on composting.

If you have any suggestions for events, then please feel free to drop us an email at licgardencompost@gmail.com. Right now I am thinking about an education day in Late July or early August, and perhaps a fall leaf drop-off in November. If we are feeling very ambitious, perhaps even a halloween pumpkin collection at the start of November. Pumpkin makes very good compost.
