This weekend was MulchFest, an annual event run by the NY Parks department to collect holiday trees to use for mulch.
The Queens collection point at the Land Restoration Project were kind enough to allow us to take some of their lovely mulch to spread on the paths in the garden.
Garden members and regular compost volunteers Christie and Shaun volunteered their time and their car to help us transport mulch to the garden, and as a result we were able to collect 14 bags of mulch.
