3. Karen Remetis
Gave a summary of her background. Business Improvement District (BID) is what she is presenting tonight. Infometric data on Kaikohe Hokianga area shows that there are a lot of professionals with disposal income. BID is an economic development strategy. A BID enables an organization like the KBA come become self-funding. Structure, landscape, heritage, environment and urban design, marketing and generating other sources of income for the BID group. Business owners need to see the benefit of the BID. Increases momentum, membership and influence. The information about a proposed BID must be accurate before it is promoted.
