Correspondence:
1. Council update – Sally
1. Youth in Emergency Services Project – Kaikohe first town to offer this.
2. "Dress Circle" on Broadway selling, may be built on
3. Alcohol and Drug liaison with Brendan Rigby
4. Swimming Pool for Kaikohe – contact Sally
5. Toilets –plans due within 2 weeks; then ‘public consultation’
2. Unitary Authority and Infrastructure - John
It appears that the LGC views are fixed. Some not notified when they requested to speak.
Local contracts – looking to stop financial waste, address levels of service,
Contract to demolish Kaikohe Hotel, will be a grassed area, FNDC will receive from Runanga
Submission to LGC – waiting to speak to this.
3. Steve and Shaun attended Paihia meeting re BID for Bay of Islands, including KHO, KV, PHA, OPU, RUS, KKI. Looking to push ‘Bay of Islands’ brand, FN Holdings suggested as the fund holder.
4. Kelly. (Written report) working on a series of funding applications for the KBA.

Moved: that the KBA apply to Oxford sports trust- cycle trail infrastructure - $40000 Sally/ Joe U (due 5th month)
Moved: that the KBA apply to Kaikohe–Hokianga Community Board – Kelly’s role - $40000 Sally/ Joe U (due 21st March)
Moved: that the KBA apply to ASB quick response - participation implementing culture - $40000 Sally/ Joe U (due 1st April)
Moved: that the KBA apply to Lotteries - Project Kaikohe Pride stage 3 cycle trail infrastructure, Kelly’s role, participation implementing culture, Security Cameras - $40000 Sally/ Joe U (due from 2nd April)
Supporting letter from Patrol, Police and Community watch (Tony) advising how helpful these are...etc required asap,
5. Section of cycle trail between Taheke Road and Station Road still an eyesore; Tony to explore less drastic avenues than padlocking the gates at each end (identified as crime hotspot, so push from there). Shaun: writing at each end.
6. Security/ CCTV cameras: 5 further sites, would apply for funds to upgrade / increase coverage. Individual businesses are responsible for their own premises including outside. Lindvart Park will have 4 cameras.
7. New Kaikohe Police Senior Sergeant soon to be announced. Chris McLelland, Area Crime Prevention manager
8. Moved that the KBA write to MP’s, Paula Bennett, copy Mike Sabin, John Carter, opposition spokesman Shane Jones Commerce Commission, regarding national contracts awarded that exclude local businesses. John/ Sally U
Trying to reduce cost to our beneficiaries? Servicing?
9. Draft Annual Plan: Steve’s Request to Council to obtain the following from Council asap: A list of items raised in the community’s submission (signed by over 200 people) to the 2013-14 Draft Annual Plan, that were actually incorporated in the 2013-14 Annual Plan.
10. This Saturday- at the Kaikohe (Ngawha) Showgrounds Regional (from Bay to the Far North) Final of the ANZ Young Farmer of the Year – evening from 6pm at the Memorial Hall, $30 per ticket, available at ANZ/ National Bank.
11. Please put in to the Council Requests for Service for ANY issue, even if longstanding.
