1. Council Annual Plan Submissions update – John and Sally
Steve S represented KBA with a submission – much last year was referred to Community Board.
Any ideas on improvements to annual plan formation including submissions – please contact John V or Sally.
Toilets in Marino Place – plans made
Much of annual plan comes from long term plan, so we need to get what we want into the LTP
2. Skate Board Park Upgrade - Sally
There will be a skateboard park and then a BMX next to it. Toilet, seating, drinking fountain included in the plan. Have the original builder involved in the plan; awaiting quote from him. Half pipe being lowered seems to have led to more children using it.
3. Project Plans for the KBA 2014. – Kelly
Community Board funds to pay Kelly; Oxford funds – for cycle track – mostly for signage; hope to get other contribution to further racks. $50,000 for Project Kaikohe Pride, Stage 3 – cycle-friendly new street furniture using recycled Kaikohe Hotel timber, Kelvin Welsh will work with Kaikohe young people on that, help to pay Kelly, cameras. Pou at entrances to town. Putting funding application to lotteries for $70,000 to get all we want to do done.
4. Signage opportunities on notice boards. Guy Road entrance: thanks to Top Energy we have the sign promoting Ngawha Springs; Whitelaw Tyres is on. Work with Pioneer Village for their next stage of signs. NEED accommodation and eating places to put a sign on the board.

5. Economic Data on Kaikohe retail spend - MikeS
Paymark data on electronic transactions. Presented – overall retail spend increase 5% last financial year over the previous year; fuel and auto biggest growth, then supermarkets and dairies. Looking to long term keep economic benefit locally. PowerPoint presentation available on request. Can also drill down to visitors, particular events.
Info in today: proportion of people working in Kaikohe and what areas they work in – largest is education and training, then retail trade. All to aid in decision making.
5. Kaikohe Pharmacy expansion plans – Hilda and Alex
Extra 120m2 – current portion will be retail including some new lines, plus allow the staff to work more efficiently. Hope to break ground in a month.
6. Security/CCTV cameras – all working. Need to review locations and utilisation of current cameras, working in with Police. Two positive ID’s for the blue tagging.
7. Work experience for senior students from Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Kaikohe - Sarah. Want to see students link in with businesses, and for them to gain understanding of what happens in town, respect for businesses in town, good relationship.
8. Dave Williams. Concern re tagging removal rate especially in side street, Kaikohe Hotel demolition – starts tomorrow, Dress Circle sold today. Storage for KBA Christmas decorations – Northern News
9. Rotary Club 60th anniversary dinner/ celebration at the RSA this Saturday 17 May, Eric Rush guest speaker, $25 per ticket, available from Birchall’s Auto Electrical and Hidden Treasures
