3. Kaikohe Action Plan 2014 – 2015
• Still concern about timeliness re. public toilets
• Mural project stage to is to commence. Need to sub-committee to raise finance and how it shall be spent. (A Puru, P Knight E Vujcich, K van Gaalen, G Hannah, S Sangster)
• Update our data base and quantify the business community’s input in cash and kind into the community

4. Update report and Xmas parade: See the attached report.
• Street furniture pushing ahead. (Monday September 22nd) Volunteers needed to stain timber etc. Please follow up with Kelly.
• Christmas Parade November 28th Friday 4:00pm – 9:00pm. (Tentatively)
• 5 Nations Mounted Games arrives on the 28th. How do we capitalize on it?

5. G Hannah: Oral report on some of the positive developments on the main street. Concern about possible squatting issues on some of the commercial properties.
6. Community Patrol: Oral Report from J Nol. Keep an eye out for the so-called “Northland Crips” report any activity to the police.
7. Kaikohe Economic Development Group: Oral report from M Shaw. Most positive development is engagement with the Northland Inc who are view the group as a partner in economic development as a region. This means access to resources and capital to advance feasible projects. Looking at developing the underutilised land, water and human resources of Kaikohe and districts to form a profitable food and produce business owned by and benefiting the people in the cooperative.
8. Air Show Idea ‘Wings and Wheels’ G Hannah raised this idea generating positive discussion.
10. Aquatic Strategy: (Community Swimming Pool) S Macauley championing this issue. 5 year plan. See attached report. Next meeting in 4 weeks. KBA to send out an invitation to members to attend.
