Minutes of the Kaikohe Business Association Meeting held at the Kaikohe RSA on 10^th February 2015 at 5:40pm

House Keeping

• 1. Matters arising: Steve walked the cycle tray with Mayor Carter, Sally Macauley, Adrienne Tari and GM.

  2. Hub Festival: War birds are not coming, Tiger Moths are coming. Some serious issues with festival management. FN Holdings may pull the plug on his festival side of the event. The concept is a great idea and perhaps it is something that the Business Association could look at supporting with a longer run in and better organisation.

  3. Credit Union: Continued concerns. No support from local retailers. Warn our retailers

4. Correspondence: Nil correspondence but refer to the ongoing issue with MSD and the attached report.

Further actions: Steve to follow up on letters. Jo to follow up on Commerce Commission and Mike to follow up on media.

5. Supporting our local businesses

• 1. Meet the candidates meeting is on 9^th March. Questions to be arranged this issue.

  2. Submission to NRC to draft regional public transport plan. Need to keep pressure on for better roading infrastructure.

  3. Next Tuesday 17^th Feb Kerikeri Business Association hosting Top Energy 10:00am Palm Co. Café to talk about their geothermal development.

  4. BOI BID have received funding develop Action Plans for 7 Business Associations. Keep watching this space and keep abreast of what’s going on.

6. Other Items

• 1. Police have done a blitz on car conversions by teenagers and should be plateaued off due to several being apprehended.

  2. CTV has helped address problems on the main street.
