Share plans for Ngawha Geothermal Energy Project and update on Top Energy Fibre– at consultation stage. 22MW on Christmas Day; 85MW in midwinter in Far North. Currently generate 25MW. Field much larger than Top Energy thought – up to 100MW available. Target for renewable energy supply attainable here. Bought land. Current landholding mostly in forest. Likely additional 50MW as 2x 25MW Ormat binary stations in area south of SH12 around existing site. To north of SH12: consent, drill, prove. Opportunities for Kaikohe: energy intensive industry for Kaikohe, work with Northland Inc, aiming for 200 new jobs for this area. Energy makeable dependent on Temp of geothermal fluid in, and out; air temp. Visited Kawerau area: incl Tuaropaki Trust: geothermal generation, pastoral farming, viticulture, T-controlled horticulture, dairy processing, telecoms. Mixed ownership of the assets. Niche style dairy factory uses large power and some heat. Top Energy will not invest in the possible industries; will offer wholesale power to industry. Fibre: used by TE to communicate between substations – building more and more to allow for failover – dual connections/ rings. 92 spare cores from 96: need internet telecom and television to be profitable. Data Centre? (consumes a lot of energy) Swimming pool? (Better heated via solar)
