Ken Rintoul gave a presentation about a Kaikohe Special Economic Zone.
Steve Sangster spoke about the Solid Waste Bylaw submission that the KBA made
Steve Sangster moved “that the KBA support, in principle, that a substantial art project be created in Kaikohe” (seconded Jack Poutsma, carried)
Jack Poutsma moved “that the KBA supports the Akau initiatives and invites them to return to present proposals for further support” (seconded Steve Sangster, carried).
Mike Edmonds moved “that a letter be sent to the community board notifying them of the KBA intentions regarding the hotel site and Akau” (seconded Steve Sangster, carried)
Mike Edmonds gave a presentation about Kaikohe and Districts Sportsville.
Steve Sangster moved “that the Kaikohe Business Association supports Kaikohe and Districts Sportsville and asks that the FNDC not lease the astro-turf separately to the rest of Lindvart Park, and furthermore makes certain that any lease of sporting facilities prohibits assignment to any organisation outside of Kaikohe.” (seconded Jack Poutsma, carried)
Joe Nol gave a financial report. Steve Sangster moved that the report be accepted (seconded Charlotte Hohepa, carried)
Joe Nol gave a report on the community patrol.
Charlotte Hohepa tendered her resignation from the KBA as she is moving back to Gisborne.
Steve Sangster moved “that the minutes of the last meeting be accepted as a true and correct record.” (seconded Jack Poutsma, carried).
