Important Update Message

The committee behind the 21st Century Learning @ Hong Kong conference are delighted to inform you that we have now finalized arrangements for the 2011 Conference.

Date: Friday, February 18th and Saturday, February 19th with the option of joining school visits on Thursday, February 17th, 2011.

Venue: West Island School, Pokfulam, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong.

Theme: "Making it Real"

Format: Keynotes, Workshops, Panel Sessions

Part of the challenge of planning this event has been our desire to bring delegates the type of event that was asked for in the feedback from the September 2009 event. Specifically, creating a conference that stimulated big ideas and then provided targeted workshops in age level/subject specialization "strands" to ensure that educators came away with the goods to be able to "Make it Real" in the classes on Monday morning. We believe that by having a commitment from ESF West Island School behind us, we have moved a long way towards realizing that vision.

The format of the conference has been reduced to an afternoon and early evening on the Friday followed by a full day on the Saturday. For those traveling to the conference from afar, we are planning to host a "School Visit Programme" on the Thursday and Friday morning. These visits will allow delegates to see and discuss innovative classroom designs, setting up a 21st Century Library, equipping classrooms to support 1:1 notebook programmes etc.

Registration for the conference will open in November but a call for expressions of interest in the school visits will follow in the next few weeks.
