Welcome back!

The long July/August break is over with and ISLN (the International School Library Network of Singapore) is swinging back into action, especially as our second biennial Hands on Literacy conference (http://www.handsonlit.com) is coming up on Saturday, November 13th.

The Call for Papers is still on -- up until next Tuesday, August 31st.

A reminder re the Call for Papers was recently sent out to curriculum co-ordinators of international schools in Singapore. Please make sure

the message gets out to your colleagues.

Registration for participants begins on September 20th. Dr. Ross Todd is the keynote speaker. (In case you didn’t hear, his colleague Dr. Carol Kuhlthau had to pull out in the summer....)

Our next network meeting is Thursday, September 2, at the main/secondary library of the Australian International School, 1 Lorong Chuan, at 4:00 PM for a 4:30 PM start. See http://silcsing.wikispaces.com for more details and for a link to a spreadsheet where you can add Agenda Items.

Interested in working on the Red Dot Book Award shortlists? There will be a meeting this Sunday at 5 PM. Contact me for details. The four shortlists will be announced at the September 2nd meeting.
