After a final evening flurry of texting banter, It's finally here, FYMA Cup '15. The weather guesser has predicted a sunny week in the desert and coupled with Kinger finding his beer tap, this year's Cup is shaping up to be a great one. I write this from 36,000 feet enroute Vegas and not even having the flight attendant dump my first beverage all down my leg (at least it was just OJ) can bring me down.
Our first debate over pairings and handicaps, who is sleeping where and an exhaustive decision on what to do for dinner first night is just a few hours away. Are you contemplating your odds at gaming tables and even better, at winning the Cup? Vegas oddsmakers were gracious enough to send me the lines on who will spending the extra $75 for the third checked bag on Saturday.
PK 2:1
Chop 4:1
G 5:1
Muddy 7:1
Clarkie 7:1
Vis 7:1
Chaser 10:1
Kinger 40:1
Rivs 40:1
Looks like Vegas favors the Cali boys, must be that good weather. It's been a harsh winter in the east and south, not many opportunities for practice, although a new driver for Muddy improved his lot. Clarkie returns to the Cup after a couple years off and the oddsmakers set a conservative line for his tourney. Vis's odds took a hit with back to back tours in AK. Returning champ Chaser will have an uphill climb due to the required 2 stroke champion's deduction is applied to his handicap. Vegas was favoring Kinger up until he found the beer tap...Rivs is here for the fun and missing round one will make it hard to rebound.
Can't this 737 go any faster! See y'all soon!!!
