The Odds are in for O-Town!

We are a couple months away from your Cup - the only anticipated event of your year. Considered more incredible and wonderful than the birth of your children, FYMA Cup 2018; The O-Town Showdown will certainly not disappoint with an amazing, although expensive, house with beds for everyone, hot tub (time machine option was way too much), heated pool, and movie theater with a recliner for all. The golf tracks will hopefully also be lifelong memories- at least three. Lineup includes: Southern Dunes, Bella Collina, Reunion Nicklaus Course, and Grand Cypress New course. Could not grab much of a discount, but still working all the courses and Crooked Cat price should come down. Typically, I try to keep costs under $1500 before flights. Went a little over this year, but after taking a hiatus last year needed to ensure it was the reunion cup you expect and deserve.

The Odds by G-Roc

So after reading the TDs hype, I decided to set some odds on who will be the favorite to take this year's CUP. I wish I was as witty as the rest of you guys and as I come down to crunch time with demob, my time is actually compressed so here goes.

I have Fratt as the odds on favorite at 8 to 5. Although his handicap is like a 45 he has been logging rounds every weekend in NORCAL, not to mention his practice. Lunchtime practice at the Golf Mart driving range by the airport where he is working on his short game.

Vis is a close second at 3 to 1. Hitting the driving range like a boss and taking lessons from youth golfers.

Mud at 4 to 1, always a big hitter, and that time away from home has got to give him a "mean-on" for the Cup.

Rivs at 5 to 1. He is due, has his own clubs and his recent "zest" for golf make him a serious contender.

Kinger at 5 to 1. Well first off he is not the favorite, but he does have a fighting chance. I will put Kinger at 5 to 1 along with fellow Mass man Rivs. Although, I will probably be advised there is a major difference between western Mass and the rest of the state. That being said with the larger movie theater this year gives Kinger the chance of a good night sleep and thus well rested to bang his driver off the deck before hitting the ball.

Clarkey at 6 to 1. He is just due even more so than Rivs and I think the back will hold up this year.

Chaser and Chop both at 8 to 1. Sorry guys I think the jet lag is going to play a factor, purely speculation at this time and may need to adjust at the onset of the tourney for you two.

Ant - 10 to 1, I don’t think there are any golf courses in the Ukraine.

PK - 11 to 1 - he has been talking a lot about intoxicants in his emails and I am a little concerned about his sobriety.

G, well I am the long shot at 16 to 1, too nice

The House

House will remain a surprise.

The Numbers

Costs per person with 11:

House: $764

Golf: $550

Food/booze: $250- based on annual average

Rental Van/gas: $40-50

Lunch on course: $60

Total: $1600-$1700/person + flights

The Logistics

The House is about thirty minutes from airport and I will have a 15 pax van ready to go. Hopefully, you chuckleheads arrive close to each other. Will plan for two runs. If you haven’t made flights, plan for after 3pm arrival. I will be checking into house at that time hopefully (check in is 4pm, but asking for earlier). If arrive earlier, I can go straight to airport I should be in area by 1400, but will have a van full of supplies including my smoker.

No cooking competition, but we will partner up with 3 cooking each night- I will cook two nights to even it out. We have some logistical needs to take care of:

The Duties:

Mudro - Assistant TD. Prior to approaching TD, all complaints, gripes, or whining will be approved first through Mudro. He will decide whether or not it deserves my attention, but plan on it going completely ignored. Mud is also the web site developer and collector of all arrival/departure times. Van runs stop at 11pm sharp- so add extra funds in your phone for Uber. Apparel requests also go through Muddy and if you want a shirt, hat, or banana hammock let him know ASAP as he has complete approval to decide and charge as he needs to. He also will determine pairings for the week, which will be approved by the TD.

G - Tourney Official- recheck Mudro handicaps and assign accordingly. Monday night you will have opportunity to bribe G-money, but all bribe amounts will be approved by me with a 20% TD cut. G will also validate and post scores/leader board nightly. G- let me know what you need such as crayons or Emma's light bright.

Rivs - Sommelier. I am shopping at NAVY Commissary/booze store. Nice selection, just let me know what you want and I will do my best. Do not forget a bottle opener, house should have, but you should always carry one on your Tilted Kilt charm necklace.

Chop - Beverage coordinator and shopping list maker. I need a complete list including mixers, water, Gatorades for a simple, but large shopping spree at exchange. Don’t forget bloody mary mix. Once menus in place, also need help with grocery list, just make sure we have all organic for Kinger. Also in charge of getting the cup through customs.

Kinger - Assistant Beverage coordinator and DVD/movie coordinator. Keg is your choice. I could maybe grab one from Navy exchange or we can look for one close by house- your call. I have a real nice new trash can to bring. Movie listings should be posted no later than 1900 each evening. Obviously you get first choice of recliners for viewing and as your bed.

Clarkie - Just worry about properly medicating your back pain. He also is Poker Director- I have one set of chips, bring cards and need more chips.

Frat - Primary house custodian, ensures all repairs completed before departing.

Chaser - Being in Guam gets you off the hook- just get to Orlando.

PK - medicate your brother-in-law. Also is our Games Coordinator to decide any house issues- we do have some arcade games in house. Work with Poker Director.

Ant - not sure I remember this guy, but if you all vouch for him, then good with me. Hydration expert and Time keeper ensuring all players are up and out for T-times.

The Menus

We have three weeks to debate and change. All proteins/dinners up for change and based on chefs' choices. I will do my best to pick up and haul down in coolers to avoid shopping on site. Also need easy breakfast list. If you cook better with someone else- check with TD ASS for approval.

Monday night: Burgers or Pizza- probably easier just to throw some burgers on grill. Everyone can help out.

Tuesday: TD/Mudro/Chaser Pulled Pork. I am bringing the Smoker- so should be able to set it on in AM. We can go tacos with it or simple BBQ

Wednesday: Rivs/Clarke/G Filet Mignon - Thinking of picking up entire tenderloin and we can cut our own: real nice. Maybe your risotto Rivs?

Thursday: Chop/PK/ANT- Mexican?

Friday: TD/FRAT/Kinger- Italian? Fish (tough to buy in advance).

Get the swings ready boys- its on and if your not trash talking, don’t come! Might want to just play for second as I have every intention of bringing home the CUP!
