Pack your hole-filled favorite under-roos and grab your flat stick cause we are less than 11 days until your favorite week of the year! It’s the O-Town Showdown and if you didn’t grab one of Mudro's custom golf shirts you will not be happy, cause probably the best of FYMA- the black/grey color scheme hides the gut well and makes me feel like a bad ass.
I am confirming T-times this week and have the code to our house. Since we are keeping the house a bit of a surprise, I am not passing along the address, but will inform that it is 30 minutes from the airport. Mudro and I have looked at arrival times and planning three runs- 2:45, 5, and 7Pm. Frat is driving up and Kinger arrives Wednesday.
My supply runs begin tomorrow and going to take care of all the beverages and inquire about keg. I will grab snacks next week and breakfast supplies. Our nearest grocery is Publix about a 10 min drive- should allow for easy dinner supply runs as needed. Shopping center also has a couple pizza joints and other restaurants if we want to go super easy.
Chaser will be at my house Sunday- although after his travels he will probably be in worse shape than the walking dead, he will be able to assist with loading the van ensuring poker chips and Bluetooth speaker comes along. If anyone can bring another set of chips- might be warranted or I can grab an affordable set at the exchange. If anyone has an apple TV or something to throw ipad loaded movies onto the screen- bring it. I will bring my ipad with Amazon, Netflix, HBO- but don’t have ability to project on TV; might fix that, but I still cant figure that crap out- if you have DVD, of course we have a player.
Your ASS TD and myself have been working tirelessly to ensure the best Cup experience to date and as long as the weather cooperates, I think you are in for a real nice surprise. However, I would ask your patience and understanding as we are having difficulties arranging evening fireworks and the limo union is on strike. No matter, course and house quality should overcome- if you need to get fired up check out the courses again - Southern Dunes, Bella Collina, Reunion Palmer, and New Course at Grand Cypress. Southern Dunes should give everyone the opportunity to hit a tree or two, fun uneven lies at Bella Collina, bring your snorkel gear for Reunion, and have fun digging holes in the pot bunkers on the New Course. The good news is everyone will hit at least one green on the New Course- although probably a 200 ft putt on the shared greens. I am also hopeful that we can piss some folks off pounding balls at the wrong flag stick while they are putting.
Impressed with Frat's practice efforts on the range and think we should all have the same dedication, cause after a quick visit in DC with Rivs/Chop/Mudro I would have to put my money on Rivs. Like a true professional that changes clubs out before every major championship, Rivs has a shiny new set already packed up- kid is hungry for the Cup. Chop is always in the hunt, but just hoping his flight arrives- I have even money on him somehow ending up on a flight arriving just before our first t-time. Your ASS TD is fired up and is looking sharp- dedication is nothing short of impressive, having secluded himself in a lonely camper in the woods of VA to focus only on hitting bombs and putting in from 60 yards- doesn’t believe in hitting the range rather kid wears knickers to bed and sleeps with his driver looking up at posters of Sergio and Speith. Clarke has informed me that he thinks he may have found his golf clubs and back pills, but with the Eagles finally in the big show- his back may suffer an early throw-out after watching the Pats paid referees steel the game from him. With no tourney victory possible, bowing down to the higher authority- claims work, but we all know it is the admiral at home- Kinger will only bring the rest of us down arriving mid-week to spur on late tourney rallies. Speaking of rallies, after a 7 hour nap in the tourney van, Chaser will be ready to go with his clock adjusted perfectly having him asleep on the golf course- nothing new and awake for home festivities- a true Cupper and Champion. With his smooth swing, PK should win every year, but as with every Cup he will feel sorry for the rest of us and let us beat him. This year's cup also sees the return of our comrade, Ant- an international threat armed with a sensational foot wedge; he should always be considered a cup favorite. G-money's only goal remains to ensure my wedges are pristine and our stories reflect accurate details of persons discussed. We all are excited about Frat and his positive energy wanting nothing more than to emerge victorious, but will he remain level-headed when Mudro sinks putts from the fairway, G out drives him, Rivs rings the flag stick, Chaser does the bull dance, Chop lines up his putt for twenty minutes, PK is closer to the pin with a six-pack on board, Clarke convinces him to always go for it, Ant switches his IV from saline to vodka, and the TD's game is just way too much for him to overcome.
Best I got for now boys-
TD Sends
