First thing is first, Congratulations to Chaser. Coming back from 14 net strokes back on the final day in what may have been the worst conditions the FYMA Cup has ever seen. Winds in excess of 35 mph with gusts over 40, temps in the mid 40s and a beast of a course set up an exciting finish, but for every huge come back, there unavoidably someone who had to be disappointed. Although in this case, it was more about the impressive play in those conditions by Chaser than a let down by Chop. Again, Congratulations to Chaser on a well played FYMA Cup! We look forward to your addition to the trophy.
Now on to next year's business; I (again) will be putting together the 2015 FYMA Cup. I have done such a great job with it, I wouldn't want the pressure of following me on any of you schmucks. So with that, your TD has set a preliminary date for the 2015 version of the FYMA Cup. Please mark your calendars as the dates have been moved back a month to try to get access to more golf destinations as well as maybe enjoy some warmer weather.
The location will be determine at a later date. No matter the location, I first need a harrumph from all of you on dates:
FYMA Cup 2015
Arrive: 17 March 15
Golf: 18-21 March 15
Depart: 22 March 15
This is only round one, but we need to get the ball rolling.
Logistics:
If you have any improvement ideas or just things that you loved or hated about any of the previous FYMA Cups, please let Muddy know.
Assignments:
Last years assignments are still posted on the Resources page. Please let me know if you would like a different responsibility this year and we can work a trade.
We will finalize menu and dates out for eating, as well as cooking assignments after the new year. As we did last year, I recommend we do a group cooking deal every night and even our simple meals, will still beat Apple Bs. If you don't want to go out at all, I am good with that. If you want to go out every night, good with that also. Just plan it...and they will eat it.
G is your Official, PGA Scorer and Handicapper. He is working on all of our handicaps as well as a posting our scores from last year. Scores from SOCAL '13 can be found on the resources page.
A Cup victory cannot be protested due to no-shows or engraved in a manner to lessen the victory. It is the holy grail of golf trophies and should be treated with respect and reverence.
