A Steve Smyers-designed Golf Course; Rated 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest; FYMA played a practice round here in played 2018; This dramatic hillside layout stretches to over 7,200 yards and features 100 ft. of elevation change, large undulating greens, massive high-lipped bunkers, Dunes that are covered with high grasses and ornamentals, which Whitey became very familiar with.
24 Jan: Tee Time - 11 am: Lead Off Round 1 - Royal St. Cloud ($47), 37 min drive. If you appreciate the legendary play of St. Andrews, Carnoustie, & Turnberry in the British Isles, you’ll love starting your #OS3 on this newcomer to the FYMA Cup lineup. Royal St. Cloud Golf Links has a rolling layout of wide-terraced fairways, punctuated by classic links bunkers that feature names like Spectacles, Devil’s Pocket, Hoofprint, Camel's Toe, & Hell’s Bunker. Unlike any other Orlando golf course, there are no houses, no gimmicks, and no cookie-cutter holes. Royal St. Cloud Golf Links has a great combination of Scottish-styled links features with a notable American flair for flawless fairways and silky-smooth Tifeagle greens, WTF-ever those are.
25 Jan: Tee Time - 11 am: Settle In Round 2 - Grand Cypress - The Links ($149), 22 min drive. Returning to a FYMA Favorite (3x) set in the midst of an open meadow, the Links Course (formerly New Course) is Jack Nicklaus’ tribute and homage to the famed Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. This Scottish links masterpiece is complete with double greens, stone bridges, & walls, gorse mounds, burns, & pot bunkers as deep as 12 feet—all in the spirit of the true Scottish original. Very little water comes into play on the Links Course, but when it does, it will challenge you to make precise shots. And while very few trees, look out for the more than 150 pot bunkers scattered throughout the lovely green fairways.
26 Jan: Tee Time - 11 am: Moving Day Round 3 - Disney’s Palm Golf Course, ($90), 18 min drive. Completely redesigned in 2013 by the Arnold Palmer Design Company. The extensive work included building entirely new green complexes, newly shaped tees, and a completely new bunker design that has modernized this historic golf course. The changes are significant and we’re very excited about the renovations of this great golf course. This 18-hole championship course features shimmering lakes, tropical sands, palm trees, and sloping greens, and includes 9 holes with water hazards and 59 bunkers—providing plenty of challenges & turning the Happiest Place on Earth into a pit of frustration & subsequent drunkenness.
27 Jan: Tee Time - 11 am: Championship Day Round 4 - Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course ($90), 18 min drive. This classic Florida course has hosted the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour, and several other USGA events. Certified by Audubon International as a Cooperative Wildlife Sanctuary, the 18-hole course was conceived by Joe Lee and most notably features elevated bunkered greens that put a premium on accurate approach shots. If you are still holding it together, test your skills & fortitude at the demanding 7th hole with its challenging island green.

29 Jan: Optional travel day.
About Orlando
Orlando is in the central region of Florida & is dotted by lakes. It was originally inhabited by Timucua & later Seminole peoples. Settlement began about 1843 around Fort Gatlin, a U.S. Army post. First called Jernigan for Aaron Jernigan an early settler, the town was renamed in 1857 to honor Orlando Reeves, an army sentry killed during the Seminole Wars. Orlando is in the eastern time zone. In January, Orlando's average temperatures range from 52F to 72F and rise above 65F by 10 am daily. Orlando averages 2.3” of rain during January, so we can expect a 20% chance of rain during our time there. Winds will range from 6-11mph. Sunrise is at approximately 7:15 am & sunset is at 6 pm, giving us nearly 11 hours of daylight. Orlando is known for its humidity, but not during our visit. January has the lowest humidity for the year.

House: $1120 for the week (based on 12-person occupancy); $160/per night if abbreviated stay.
Golf: $400
Food/Booze: $250 based on the annual average
Rental Van: $50
Lunches: $100
Total before your flights & Orlando weekend fun: $1900-$2100/person for 7 days and nights.
The Logistics
The House is about 30 minutes from the airport and TD will have a 15-pax van ready to go. Hopefully, you chuckleheads arrive close to each other. We plan to have at least one van run, but having a second run is possible if a good grouping is made (4 or more). If you haven’t made flights, plan your arrival for around 2-3 pm (earlier is better) to get to the house for check-in. If you arrive earlier, you may have to post up in an airport watering hole or Uber to Epcot for some Disney fun. If your arrival is after happy hour, expect to Uber. Uber X starts at $47 and Uber XL starts at $60 from the airport.
The Duties
1. Vis - Tournament Director (TD). He was born for this and it now has consumed him entirely. Final authority on all rulings, movie choices, new handicap rules, and inter-tournament skirmishes.
2. Mudro - Assistant TD (AssTD). Prior to approaching TD, all complaints, gripes, or whining will be approved first through AssTD. He will decide whether or not it deserves his attention, but plan on it going completely ignored. AssTD is also the website developer and collector of all arrival/departure times. A single van run this year (maybe)- so add extra funds in your phone for Uber. Apparel requests also go through AssTD and if you want a shirt, Scally, or banana hammock let him know ASAP as he has complete approval to decide and charge as he needs to. He also will determine pairings for the week, which will be approved by the TD.
3. G - Tourney Official and Time Keeper - rechecks AssTD handicaps and screws Fratt accordingly. Monday night you will have the opportunity to bribe G-money, but all bribe amounts will be approved by me with a 20% TD cut. G will also validate and post scores/leaderboard nightly. As Official Time Keeper, you will ensure all players are up and out for T-times.
4. PK – DVD/movie coordinator: Movie listings should be posted no later than 1900 each evening. Obviously, you get the first choice of recliners for viewing. PK will also fill the position of Food Director. Ensure all food lists are developed from the menu planning of each cooking group. Provide lists to and assist SuppO with procurement of supplies.
5. Clarkie - Poker Director/Games Coordinator, needs at least two sets of chips, and cards. Solicit other Cuppers if unable to provide. Also, our Games Coordinator decides any side games and rulings. Appeal authority is retained by TD. That’s about the limit of responsibility we can give him.
6. Rivs - Sommelier. Provide a wine list for SuppO to execute. Do not forget a bottle opener! The house should provide, but you should always carry one on your Tilted Kilt charm necklace. This year should be more challenging as we’re not sure whether a Merlot or Pinot Noir pairs properly with frank and beans.
7. Kinger – Beverage Director (except wine). Provide a beverage list to SuppO, a complete list including mixers, water, and Gatorades for a simple, but large shopping spree. Don’t forget the bloody mary mix. Also, selection of the Keg of local goodness. Official Mixologist is also bestowed upon you. You have the honor of developing FYMA Cup’s first official drink.
8. Chop – Is appointed SuppO. Once all assignments are handed out, Directors shall send all supply lists to Chop. Support will organize runs for supplies and booze, as necessary. Make sure you make it as hard as you can for him since he will be wrecked in flight and during layovers this year.
9. Fratt – Returns to his role as the Primary house custodian and ensures all repairs are completed before departing. Also, Protocol Officer addresses all breaches in good manners, humor, and etiquette. Ensures all repairs are completed before departing. Also, addresses all breaches in good humor, and etiquette & settles any pre/post-round skirmishes.
10. Whitey – Bouncer and Planning Officer; Screens all newcomers at the door, and enforces all rulings for the TD. Assist with lessons learned and planning of the next FYMA Cup and all activities involved.
11. Espino - Aquatic Engineer/Extra-curricular Activities Director. Ensure the pool is prepped & hot tub never falls below 104 degrees F. Anyone with a swimsuit smaller than his will not be admitted to the pool area. Also, responsible for coordinating our evenings out and dining excursions with the Gaming Coordinator.
12. Begs - Random Task at-Large, responsible for odd jobs designated by TD/AssTD covering everything from keg prepper to shitter-de-turder, from seating arranger to keys/wallet finder.
The Menus
Team format: Teams of 4 will be responsible for submitting shopping lists, cooking, and cleaning on their assigned day. All proteins/dinners are up for change and based on chefs' choices, so get your lists to the Suppo. Also, need an easy breakfast list. If you cook better with someone else - check with AssTD for approval.
Saturday Night: Plan on eating out or possibly a snack at the Oasis.
Sunday: For lunch, pick up some grinders. For dinner, Grill some protein - Everyone can help out.
Monday: Kinger, Rivs, TD, & Begs - New England faire possibly
Tuesday: Out TBD (not Charlie’s)
Wednesday: AssTD, G, Fratt, Chop - This lineup naturally goes Italiano
Thursday: Clarkie, Spino, Whitey, & PK - Cheesesteaks in honor of the Eagles/Phillies (Flyers suck)
Friday: Pizza or Order in, as previously done
