Gender Roles

The gender prejudice prevalent among many races is not something to which the Khanshael subscribe. The Kin firmly believe that an individual, regardless of gender, is perfectly capable of any task. This perception also applies to other races. Dark dwarves exposed to other societies often have a hard time adjusting to the gender bias they see around them.

During childhood, each child, regardless of gender, is allowed to follow the path that best suits him or her. Many of the most skilled smiths, warriors, and miners among the Khanshael are female. Gender is not a restriction for any task or profession among the Kin and there are no tasks or occupations that the Kin view as gender specific.

The dark dwarves believe that an individual should always perform the task to which he or she is best suited and in which he holds the most interest.
