2012 February Newsletter

Devon County Council Golf Society – Winter 2012 newsletter

Happy New Year to you all. As you may know, I have taken over from Mike as Secretary, partly as he had done 25 years as Secretary which is long enough for anyone and partly as we assumed I would now have more time (not proving to be true!). It does seem a long time since our Stover meeting in October but fortunately, the winter weather hasn’t been too bad so most of us will have played if we wanted.

Winter Meeting

This will be held at Dawlish Warren on Friday 30^th March. There will be a 9 hole greensomes competition in the morning for the winter Cups. In the afternoon, there will be an 18 hole individual stableford competition for the Reg Smith trophy.

Total cost will be £45, a really good day for 27 holes and two good meals

The costs are:-

If you’d like to play please email - dccgolfsoc@gmail.com

Kelly Cup 2012 (holder Matt Stone) If you’d like to enter the matchplay knock-out please email dccgolfsoc@gmail.com.

South Coast Salver (team of 12 players required)

Please also email dccgolfsoc@gmail.com to indicate availability to play in this event, which involves 27 holes, 9 holes greensomes and 18 holes singles stableford. It will be held at Launceston Golf Club on Friday 4th May. After a great run, we have lost to Exeter in the last two years so it’s about time we got it back.
