Remaining 2009 Fixtures

Results

See the website for the results of the Spring meeting which was enjoyed by 35 players at Bowood on 8th June. The weather on the day was rather variable, but this didn’t preclude some excellent scoring.

Autumn meeting

This will be held at Teignmouth Golf Club on Thursday 1st October, play starting from 9.30am. The morning competition will be a 9 hole 3 ball team event for the CX (Macklin) Trophy, and the afternoon will be an individual stableford for the Bellair Cup (holder Sam Freeman). The Scratch Cup will also be decided over the afternoon round.

There will be coffee on arrival, a bacon roll between competitions and a two course evening meal on a running basis after play is concluded. The overall cost of the day will be £43. The twos sweep will only be held over the afternoon 18-hole competition.

This is the last newsletter for this year – some of the dates/venues for the society’s 2010 events have already been agreed – for details please see the website under ‘Fixtures’.

Additional competition

As has been the case over the last few years an extra event has been arranged – it is again going to be held at Trethorne (near Launceston) on Sunday 1st November starting at 11am. There will be coffee and bacon on arrival, an 18 hole stableford competition and a two course carvery meal. The price is £25(plus £1.50 for some modest prizes) – I’ve asked several other local clubs and this is at least £9 per person cheaper than anywhere else, hence why it’s Trethorne again.
