Rejecting the Deal

In your response to Khrushchev, you come off extremely strong. You promise that the United States will never negotiate with a country who refuses to think of the safety of all the world's people. To top it off, the response is not private, but public as you announce your decision in an address on national television.

The American people hail you as the greatest President in history.

However, your response may have been a bit too strong as Cuba sees no chance for peace and declares war on the US.

Fears of a Cuban based attack seem to be imminent and at the urging of the Joint Chiefs, you are left with no decision but to strike Cuba before they can fire their missiles.
