Brinkmanship

You've successfully led Russia through a difficult transition. Similarly, at the same time that the government transitioned from Stalin's control to yours, you also had to guide the country through the American policy of brinkmanship.

The American president at the time, Dwight Eisenhower, believed that the way to deal with Russia was to threaten to take things to the brink. You could never be sure whether he was willing to or not, but somehow, you navigated through it, even when a U-2 spy plane crashed in the middle of Russia.

While tensions were strained, you managed to keep the peace.

Now, Eisenhower is out of office and the American people have elected a much younger leader named John F. Kennedy.
